It takes an artist to create a world on paper with just a few strokes of
a pencil or a paintbrush. It takes a truly spectacular artist to bring
the imaginary world out of the paper and make it come to life. That’s
exactly what 3D Art is all about, an insane amount of talent and works
of art that seem impossible to pull off on a flat surface.
These following illustrations are the work of Chilean artist Fredo.
They’re so incredible that it’s hard to believe that a 17 year old has
created them. Fredo spends anything from half an hour to a month making
sure that each picture is perfect. His unique style makes the objects
appear as if they’re going to jump right out of the page. According to
this talented artist “Everything is possible with a pencil in your
hands, the real world is smaller than the imaginary. And, of course,
have fun and do it with love.”
Another artist who specializes in creating 3D images is Nagai Hideyuki,
the 21 year old prodigy from Japan. Hideyuki identifies himself as an
anamorphic artist, which is a style of art that stems from the early
Renaissance. The style features techniques based on perspective, where
an artist creates distorted images or drawings that are recognizable
only when viewed in a certain way. If you look at them up close, his
drawings appear as flat sketches on sheets of paper. However, from a
distance the compositions test our brains to ‘see’ more than we might
first expect.
